P Spencer Ellis

Paul Spencer Ellis

Co-opted Governor

Paul retired in 2016 after a career teaching in schools and university in the UK and France.   He was seconded as Acting Head into a school which had failed an Ofsted Inspection in 2001 and stayed as Head for over fifteen years, during which the school achieved an Outstanding Ofsted judgement and the pupil numbers doubled to over 1000.

He was active in working with other local schools, Chairing Reigate and Banstead 14-19 Educational Partnership and sitting on Surrey Independent Review Panels on Exclusions as well as serving as an Ofsted Inspector.

He still serves on a Ministerial Working Party looking at support for vulnerable young people and is also a member of the Management Committee of a school in Cornwall.

Since retirement he has done advisory work in a number of schools in the UK, France and Switzerland, focussing generally on helping with School Improvement as well as Strategic Planning and Staffing Issues.
