Mrs Newington read Music at Royal Holloway, University of London followed by a PGCE at Sussex University, and has been teaching in West Sussex since 2004. As well as teaching, Mrs Newington is active as a performer in a local symphony orchestra as well as her own string quartet. Her career prior to teaching involved systems development and data analysis in the telecoms industry and has lived in West Sussex for nearly 20 years.

Mrs Newington is passionate about the importance of Music and the skills and understanding that it develops in all areas of our lives, resilience and independence in particular.

She enjoys spending time at the beach, watching films, reading and crochet, as well as travelling the world.
