Joanna Hicks

Joanna Hicks

Role:Design Technology Teacher
Qualification:BA (Hons), PGCE

Miss Hicks studied Three-Dimensional Design, Wood, Metal Ceramics and Glass at Manchester Metropolitan University. After completing her degree she worked for the Arts Council of England which involved funding arts projects across the Southern region. Miss Hicks felt inspired, more than 10 years ago, to retrain as a teacher so she could share her passion of making with young people and get them making too. Since then she has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Graphic Products, Product Design, Food Technology and Art and Design.  Miss Hicks is keen to develop her own work outside of school and regularly meets with a group of like-minded individuals who exhibit in the local Arts Trail.  Ceramics is Miss Hicks' main focus but she also enjoys printing, silver-smithing, exploring mixed media and walking her labradoodle, Dylan.
