Role:Head of English

For the past fifteen years, Ms Elmes has taught English, Film and Media. She has been responsible for KS4 English and English Literature as Second in Department; she has also led A Level English Literature and worked as a middle leader in pastoral teams.

She grew up in Brighton, gaining her BA Hons and Master’s degrees in English Literature from The University of Sussex. After working as a painter and decorator, and later as a pastry chef, she returned to Sussex University to complete a PGCE.

Her over-riding passion is for Literature and she is keen to share her love of novels, plays, poetry and film. Her other creative interests are all things culinary; allotmenteering; amateur interior design and building brick walls.
