School Carol Concert at Chichester Cathedral
As previously communicated, we are delighted to confirm that all students in Years 5, 6 and 7 are taking part in this year’s Carol Service, being held at Chichester Cathedral on Wednesday, 11th December at 7pm. This letter sets out the arrangements for the rehearsal and event itself.
Transport and Logistics
On the day, we will walk to the cathedral for an afternoon rehearsal. Please ensure students have a raincoat. Students will need collecting between 3.30pm and 4pm from the West Entrance to the cathedral, opposite the old House of Fraser store. There is a large car park nearby in North Street for parking. If your child has mobility issues, please contact email@example.com so that we can allocate a place in the minibus that will be transporting equipment to the cathedral. All students must be picked up no later than 4pm. If you have other children to collect from CFS, they will be looked after in school until you are able to return to collect them. Please notify the School Office if your child will need to be looked after until then.
In the evening, students must be back at the cathedral by 6.30pm, in full school uniform, arriving at the same West Entrance. Guests may also arrive from this time but no earlier. From 6.30pm you will be permitted to enter and directed to seating by ushers.
Unfortunately, due to the numbers involved and limits on seating in the cathedral we are only able at this point to allocate two seats to parents/carers for each child performing in the choir, as a reader or in the band. These children will be given passes which must be brought with you on the night. If your child is not performing in one of these capacities, unreserved seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
The carol service will last approximately 50 minutes, finishing no later than 8pm. All students need to be collected from the cathedral by 8.10pm. If you are not attending the service, please collect students from either the West or North door where students will be held until collected.
I look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a very special occasion.
