Year 3 Cathedral/Novium Walk

After the Easter holidays we will be starting our new learning experience “All Around Us: Chichester”.  As part of this learning experience we have arranged to take the children into Chichester to visit the Cathedral and do a Walls walk.  All well as this we will be taking the children on a local walk to visit the canal.  The trip to Chichester will take place on Monday 29th April 2019.

The trip will take place in school hours.  Children will be required to wear full school uniform with comfortable walking shoes as we will be walking to and from the city centre as well as around the City Walls.

All children will be required to carry a small back pack which will contain their lunch, in a plastic bag which can be disposed of, a sealable drinking bottle and a water proof coat.  We ask that the children do not bring any money with them.  All children will require a packed lunch, although if your child is in receipt of free school meals a lunch will be provided for them.

We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £5 to cover the costs involved with the trip.  Payment for the visit is voluntary, however, unless all parents who are able to do so are willing to contribute, we will be unable to fund the visit and it may have to be cancelled. Costs for every event are calculated as near as possible to break even and non-payments will cause events to run at a loss, which the school cannot indefinitely afford. We would ask therefore that you accept that there will be no refunds. If you are unable to contribute, you are invited to contact the school office, in confidence, so that arrangements can be made to cover the cost of your child’s participation.

We will need additional adults to accompany both the trip and our canal walk.  The canal walk will take place during the morning of Wednesday 24th April.  If you are able to commit to helping on either day, please email your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.

Please make your voluntary contribution payment and consent via ParentPay by Wednesday 3rd April 2019.
