Sixth Former's Sri Lanka Charity Work
One of our New Sixth form students, Rebecca Burge, spent three months this summer in Sri Lanka volunteering for The Mighty Roar, a company that organises wildlife and community volunteer programmes abroad. Whilst in Sri Lanka, Rebecca volunteered at the UNESCO village school just outside Ambalangoda which was set up to help local children following the devastation of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. She went on to undertake conservation work at a turtle sanctuary before helping to build a new one.
Rebecca was featured on the Inside Out South East programme on Monday 10th September. If you want to see more on the work she undertook then watch the programme from around 5 minutes in.
