U13s Cricket Tournament
The Under 13 cricket team made up of Year 7 and Year 8 pupils went to the Bourne Community College for a tournament last week. The team started in Pool A and showed some fantastic bowling and batting. The team worked very hard together and communication was a key factor in the success of their winning matches. The results were in from Pool A and Pool B and our team made the semi-final against The Regis School.
We started well with some fantastic batting and tactical play with a team score of 22. The Regis then went into bat with some fast pace bowling and excellent fielding from CFS, The Regis scored 16. CFS then managed to bowl The Regis player out with the final ball.. This secured the CFS win of 22 to 16. We were now in the final against The Bourne Community College!!
We were batting first and showed some great technical play scoring 12. The match was very close and came down to the final two balls. The Bourne managed to gain 2 extra runs on the final ball resulting in 12 to CFS and 14 to The Bourne. It was so close.
We were super impressed with our team, the respect they showed to other schools and staff and how well they worked together.
We came 2nd of 8 teams from the local area. Huge achievements, Well Done CFS.
Player of the tournament - Katy P for her incredible bowling skills. Most improved players - Ismae P and Georgia H showing improvement throughout the tournament, not only in their performance but their confidence as well.
