  • Our Year 7 day trip to France

Our Year 7 day trip to France

    18 December 2017

Many thanks to students, parents and staff for supporting this new and exciting venture for the languages department. The trip aimed to given year 7 students a taste of French life at Christmas time and to allow them to try speaking a little French. We set off in the dark and returned in the dark but had a thoroughly sparkly time whilst there!

Students were able to see snow settled on low lying land in the French countryside and admire the distinctive architecture of the city of Lille. At the market they tried out a bit of French to buy chocolates, Christmas decorations, snacks and gifts to take home. The big wheel and café were also popular stops.

Particular thanks must go to the accompanying staff Mrs Agate, Mrs Melendez-Ruiz, Mr Day and Mrs Hobby.

Kieran will be serving his homemade super curry, Mac will be on the homemade soup stall whilst Helen and Jo in our cafe’ will be working some magic, with teas and coffees for everyone!  Don’t forget Katie on the cake stall, such a popular stall – with so many lovely cakes and cupcakes for everyone!

A huge thanks to Tim, who has been working his little elf shoes off getting some amazing Raffle prizes.   We have some fabulous prizes including, food hampers, £50 jewellery voucher, tickets for golfing experiences, Beauty vouchers, Portsmouth F.C. ball signed by the players and managers, paint balling and lots, lots more!

PLEASE do keep selling your raffle tickets – just think if every student sold one book of raffle tickets – it would make such a difference to our school!  If you need raffle tickets, they are available from both the Senior and Primary offices, or text Julia on 07545 851671 with your students name and class and I will make sure raffle tickets are provided.

Father Christmas still has some spaces available for the children to come and visit him and get a rather lovely present!  Do email Beverley, Head Elf at leonandbev@btopenworld.com to reserve a space!

Finally, please do keep sending in your kind donations!  We are still looking for bottles for our bottle tombola, chocolate for our chocolate tombola, soft teddies/bears for our teddy tombola and any new items for our Grand tombola.  Friday 1st December we are asking for donations for the cake stall, so please be generous and send in your donations.

Bring the family, bring your friends – we all look forward to seeing you on the day!

  • It's Showtime!

    It’s Showtime!

    16 May 2016

The Box Office is open for our upcoming production of Dracula. The show will be playing at Tangmere Village Centre at 7:30pm on Wednesday 25 and Friday 27 May, and at 1pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 28 May.

Dracula (a CFS adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel) tells the story of the original Nosferatu; a centuries old creature with the power to exert his will over humans. When Count Dracula seeks to spread his powers to England through unwitting estate agent Jonathan Harker, it falls to Lord Arthur Godalming, his Texan companion Quincey and seasoned vampire hunter Dr Abraham Van Helsing to stop him from spreading his evil to all four corners of the globe. With strong performances from an exceptionally capable cast, Dracula is a wonderful retelling of Stoker’s gothic tale and is surely one not to miss.

Please note, although this is a school production which we believe is suitable for a school audience, some younger children may find particular scenes scary, particularly if they have a fear of the dark. We would recommend that the performance is suitable for children in KS2 and above, but please do use your discretion.

Tickets are priced at £3 for concessions (any children under 18yrs and over 65yrs) and £6 for adults, and are limited to 80 for each performance. They are likely to sell out quickly, so log on to the online portal (Tucasi) to book your tickets. Alternatively, you will be able to complete and return the reply slip in the forthcoming letter about the play. Please note that there will be no physical tickets.
