The next Governors Meeting will be held on Tuesday 10 July 2018

Clive is a qualified, professional Solicitor with over 20 years experience in the legal profession. He has represented individuals, corporations and governmental bodies across various areas including public sector housing law, property litigation, commercial litigation, governance and regulatory issues.
Clive recognises the importance of parents having a real choice where to send their children to school and firmly believes that increased competition will be the driver for standards to improve throughout the region. Whilst researching schools for his own children, it was apparent that there was a startling lack of options in the Chichester area and he is committed to ensuring that Chichester Free School offers the academic excellence and cohesive environment that children deserve and parents demand.

Howard was a Governor in Crawley for five years at a very large primary school before moving to Chichester late last year. He is now a Governor at a Primary school in Chichester as well as at Chichester Free School. Prior to that he spent 28 years with IBM and had a wonderful and varied career ranging across Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance. He decided to retire early in 2010 and since then has been involved in a number of areas but the one he feels most passionate about is Education. As a child of the 60s when education was a lot different to today, he couldn’t wait to leave school and start earning money, and in the years since he has spent considerable time correcting that rather foolish move, culminating in an MBA from Manchester Business School in 1998 – better late than never!
He is so impressed with CFS, with the staff and the students and finds himself totally aligned to the aims and ambition of the School. The next few years will be very exciting for all of us involved and he looks forward very much to playing his part in that journey.

Joseph was educated locally at Seaford College in Petworth, before completing a degree at the University of Plymouth, then returning back to West Sussex to start his career at Langmead Farms. Joseph is now Managing Director of his family business in Southampton, Botley Mills, which manages numerous commercial tenants and has a variety of different retail interests.
Their youngest son Oliver has been at CFS since its inception in 2013 and they were able to bring their other son, Thomas, to CFS, as the school opened more years. Oliver has now moved in to Secondary alongside his brother and so the family have experienced all sides of the school.
Joseph had a traditional boarding school upbringing and feels many of the qualities he enjoyed can be adopted by the free school’s flexibility. He strongly believes that our ethos and message of Nurture, Challenge and Inspire echoes through every aspect of the school and will be further enhanced by our move to the Convent in September 2018 and that the qualities that CFS instils in our children will best prepare them for the challenges they will meet in a very demanding world.
