GCSE Geography Field Trip

42 Year 10 pupils went to East Head, West Wittering Beach to revise their coastal management case study and carry out fieldwork to answer the question… Do the beach defences at East Head protect the coastline?  As part of the day, pupils went on a tour of East Head to look at the current state of the beaches and dunes, completed a field sketch and took measurements to see if the groynes were working.  They also measured the rate of longshore drift to see how erosion was occurring.  All pupils had a great day, despite the rather wet start.
