World Book Day 2026
Today we celebrated World Book Day with a range of creative and engaging activities across the school. Our Primary pupils arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing many much-loved stories to life!
Pupils in Years 2–6 were invited to the hall throughout the day to take part in a variety of activities. They created beautiful origami bookmarks, completed leaves for our growing ‘Primary Reading Tree’, and shared conversations about the books they are currently enjoying. Many pupils also worked together to complete a fun word search, celebrating the joy of reading with their friends.
Meanwhile, pupils in Years 7–10 explored emotions and creativity through writing inspired by The Grand Hotel of Feelings by Lidia Brankovic. This wonderful text encouraged both imaginative and transactional writing, helping pupils reflect on and express different emotions through their work.
Alongside these English lessons, our Young Reporters spent the day capturing the celebrations, recording our students as they explored feelings through a range of creative activities.
It has been a fantastic day celebrating reading, creativity and the power of stories across our school community!
