Year 10 football success
The Year 10 Reds kicked off their season in dominant fashion, delivering a statement performance in their opening game. Max opened the scoring after a perfectly chipped ball down the wing from Joe, finishing confidently to give the team an early lead. Soon after, Sid set up Max again with a sharp assist as the pressure continued to build.
Shay then got on the score sheet thanks to a clever back-heel from Joe, capping off a flowing attacking move.
The second half, however, was far more balanced. Bourne started a more attacking structure scoring three goals with decisive runs in behind the Reds back five.
But the Reds showed resilience. Shay produced some huge, perfectly timed tackles to halt dangerous attacks, while Miller—playing two years up—was instrumental in midfield. His composure and passing began to swing the momentum back, feeding Max and Sid and driving the team forward again. Max added another from a Joe assist and Shay struck again from Miller’s corner delivery to finish the game off 5-3.
A top performance from The Reds and a strong start to what looks to be a successful season for the side.
