Secondary Sports Day (no clubs except supervised study for Secondary)

We are delighted to confirm that Secondary Sports Day is taking place this year at the University of Chichester, College Lane, PO19 6PE on Tuesday 20th May. We are grateful to the University for allowing us to use their facilities and equipment. Additionally we are very fortunate to be joined by some volunteer student teachers on the day.

All secondary pupils are expected to attend whether they are physically engaging in PE lessons currently or not.

Pupils are to wear full CFS PE kit on this day (anyone not in CFS kit will be given spare kit to wear for the day).

All pupils will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Those in receipt of free school meals will have a lunch provided.

Parents/Carers are welcome to stay and watch the events, paid parking at the University is available.

Morning activities are from 0900 - 1130 (pupil registration at 0845)
Lunch is 1130 - 1215
Afternoon activities 1215 - 1430

Pupils will engage in a carousel of sports related activities including track and field, team pursuit, rounders and team problem solving competitions which will contribute to the House Cup presented at the end of the Summer Term.

Travel arrangements
Due to the timings of the day, there is the opportunity for pupils to meet at the University and be dismissed from there rather than meeting and being dismissed from School at the normal times. It is important that you please complete the questions in the Google form HERE if your child is going directly to the University.

If the form is not completed we will expect your child at school for registration as normal (0815) and they will walk with a member of CFS staff to and from the University.

There are no secondary after school clubs except a Supervised Study session in the Futures Hub on this day.

Pupil Behaviour
As a school, we reserve the right to not take pupils to the Sports Day due to their current behaviour at school and their general behaviour record along with those pupils who have been set IE for the day. Pupils who will not be in attendance at Sports Day because of their behaviour will be informed and will be expected in School for that day.

Weather and contingency plans
Sadly, if there is rain on the day pupils will return to CFS and continue in normal lessons. This would be communicated to parents by 7.30am on the day. We are unable to secure a 'back up' date with the university and therefore we will return to sports events at CFS during lesson times during June.

Best wishes

Mr G Dean
Head of PE
