Cricket Festival
On Tuesday 29 April, ten pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 attended a Girls’ Cricket Festival at the Regis School organised by the Sussex Cricket Foundation.
Girls from each school participated in a carousel of activities, spending 10 minutes on each game before moving on to the next. These included ‘non-stop’ or ‘continuous cricket’ match (a fast-moving version of the game), fielding and catching practice, team strategy exercises, precision bowling, a rounders-style cricket event and batting contests.
The girls collaborated well, cheering each other on and demonstrating a great team spirit. It was terrific to see them working together tactically to successfully find the fielding gaps in one opposing team.
Special mentions to Alex for a fantastic catch to end the run of a rival batsman, Ella and Willow for their powerful batting and running, and Mehreen for facing her fears with some impressive batting!
A great afternoon was had by all.
