DofE Silver Training Walk
On Friday 24th October 2025, our 25-26 Silver cohort of participants undertook a training walk from Cocking back to CFS via Singleton and The Trundle. Whilst on the walk the participants learnt about the Countryside Code, how to orientate a map and use feature points to help them locate their position on the ground, how to use a compass and about contours. After returning to school, they learnt about camp site etiquette, how to find a suitable pitch and prepare it, how to set up a tent and how to cook using Trangia Gas Stoves.
A chilly but enjoyable 2 days for all involved.
