Izzy's Musical Success

During the lockdown period, Izzy who is in Year 6, has submitted video auditions to the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama for entry in September for Saturday school at the Junior Departments. Izzy has done amazingly well and was offered places at both. This will be a big commitment, but she has decided to accept the offer of a place at Junior Guildhall, and will be joining them every Saturday during term time. This will be a fantastic opportunity for Izzy and she is very excited to join them in September

Mrs Newington, Music Teacher at CFS says "What wonderful news! Izzy is so deserving of this and to have offers from both colleges and be in a position to turn one down is awesome!!! Izzy has the talent and the drive but rarer still, she is the complete musician in the sense that she enjoys the camaraderie of playing with others, irrespective of level, and is helpful and nurturing to all around her, including me, who knows very little of the practicalities of brass instruments!"

Izzy says “I’m so excited and can’t wait to start. I’d love to be a soloist in the future and travel the world playing my trumpet”.

We are very proud of her and thought we should share the good news.  Huge well done Izzy.
