Pupil Leadership transition event

Pupil Leadership Subject Transition Event – A Wonderful Afternoon!

I wanted to share how fantastic our Pupil Leadership Subject Transition event was on Monday afternoon. Over the past couple of months, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with our Heads of Department and around 60 enthusiastic pupils from Years 7 to 9. These pupils were grouped into small teams and each group was tasked with running a table that showcased a secondary subject to our incoming Year 6 students from CFS.

The secondary pupils were simply outstanding. The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was incredibly positive, and it was a real joy to watch our pupils engage so confidently and warmly with the Year 6s. The variety and creativity of activities on offer made for a truly memorable experience, and the Year 6 pupils were highly engaged and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Here’s a summary of the subject stations and their brilliant activities:

  • PE – Netball and cricket skills

  • Dance – Creative movement and blindfold challenges

  • Science – Exploring magnets

  • Drama – Performance tasks and theatre games

  • French – Introduction to the language

  • History – Year 7 history highlights

  • Maths – Countdown-style challenges

  • RS – Exploring human rights

  • Computing – Programming with Micro:bit

  • Spanish – Language exploration activities

  • DT – Rocket design and launching

  • Music – Drums, guitar, and body percussion

  • English – Wordle challenges

  • Geography – Map puzzles and world exploration

  • Anti-Bullying Ambassadors – Promoting a culture of kindness

  • PSHE – Preparing for secondary school life

A huge thank you to all staff and pupils who helped make this event such a success. Your support, creativity, and leadership are what made this afternoon so special.

We’re already looking forward to next year!

Miss Oxley
Head of Year 7
