Year 7 Midnight Gang Trip
Mrs Sabin and Mr Lean ran a successful trip to New Park Cinema, with 70 lucky year 7 students, who walked into Chichester and back – and said they enjoyed being able to do so! At the cinema, we were shown clips from classic films including Whistle Down the Wind and West Side Story, demonstrating the challenges and troubles of being in a gang. A member of staff from the Festival Theatre then gave us behind the scenes insights to the new production of David Walliams’ Midnight Gang, before inviting four volunteers to have a go acting out short scenes (well done, Daisy, Sam, Ted and Teagan). We finished with a Q&A session, with interesting queries from children, including “What was the hardest injury to show on stage?” (answer: blindness) and, “What are your favourite and least favourite films?” (answer: too difficult to name!) This was a thoroughly enjoyable morning, generously offered free of charge by the New Park Cinema. The children behaved perfectly and were a real tribute to the school. Midnight Gang opened at the Festival Theatre last weekend and runs until 3rd November.
