Young Chef November 2025
On behalf of Mrs Russell and everyone involved, I am delighted to share that last Thursday we hosted the area heat of the Rotary Club’s Young Chef competition—an evening that proved both inspiring and memorable.
The event brought together talented pupils from Years 7–10, each demonstrating impressive cooking skills as well as creativity, organisation, and confidence under pressure. Competitors were tasked with preparing and serving a nutritious two-course meal within just two hours, using no more than £18 worth of ingredients. We were incredibly proud to see how thoughtfully and resourcefully each entrant rose to the challenge.
The dishes produced were visually stunning, wonderfully fragrant, and tasted every bit as good as they looked. Our panel of expert judges certainly had a tough job. We were honoured to welcome the Chair of the Chichester Priory Rotary Club, two chefs from Pallant House, and last year’s highly successful CFS entrant and district winner, Fergus Miller. Fergus returned with professionalism and warmth, offering reassuring support to this year’s competitors.
